IT Architecture and Enterprise Services– Product Owner (2019-2021)

• Drove design, prioritization, adoption, and automation of numerous platforms, common services, and frameworks targeting projects across various businesses lines.
• As an architect and SME in the IBM MQ messaging, Rest APIs, and the File processing space, collaborated with other senior leaders to assess all external client interfaces. These interfaces allow brokers, dealers, and vendors to communicate with all the financial applications of the organization on the mainframe, distributed, and cloud platforms. Provided strategic recommendations for the future iterations of these client interfaces, including some innovative cloud-based solutions such as Snowflake as well as distributed ledger technology (DLT).
• Architected, designed, and integrated a variety of middleware platforms such as Solace Pubsub+, IBM MQ, Tomcat, Oracle, and frameworks leveraging Java, Camel, Spring to drive transformation in support of various reference architecture standards.
• Directed enterprise-wide updates of legacy systems and financial applications across diverse business lines, using new frameworks and platforms aligned with modern architecture standards. This allowed for more effective service delivery for these business applications, as well as cost savings to build and operate. It also eliminated redundancies while reducing risk and increasing resiliency. Collaborated on two pilot projects leveraging blockchain technologies, one of which was on Ethereum.

Fixed Income Market & Liquidity Risk Management Systems – Systems Owner (2012-2019)

• Built and mobilized a highly specialized, globally distributed team of 35 developers, business analysts, testers, and project managers, including full-time employees and long-term contingency workers from multiple vendors both on and offshore.
• As a manager, ensured the design, implementation, delivery, and operation of critical market and liquidity risk management systems, with tight intraday and end of day SLAs to the street, to be robust, reliable, and resilient. The reporting produced from these operational systems not only ensured risk-free trading for clients but also provided transparency to various regulatory bodies.
• Oversaw continuous modernization via full SDLC on a large portfolio of systems including VaR for fixed income trading, closeout, and liquidity – aligning with regulatory requirements and business priorities. These systems operate on both ground and cloud data centers on distributed platforms, built upon Oracle, Golden Gate, Java, Informatica Data Hub, IBM Data Stage, WebSphere, Greenplum, and Snowflake technologies.
• Directed a complete transformation of fixed income market risk processing to a sensitivities-based VaR, resulting in additional liquidity for financial institutions of up to several billion dollars a day. Part of this effort included building a new pipeline of vendor data which allowed for a more precise pricing model to be utilized by the risk systems.
• Collaborated with diverse business lines within the organization to address dynamic stakeholder priorities across market and liquidity risk. Worked closely with quantitative risk modelers to meet regulatory requests, enhance existing systems and provide improved reporting capability, leveraging a newly built data warehouse.

Mortgage-Backed Securities with Pool Net and User Interface – Tech Lead (2007-2012)

• As a technical lead with business expertise, upgraded the organization’s TBA trade platforms, including the rewriting of TBA Net, providing nearly a 90% reduction in transaction volume. This resulted in significant cost efficiencies across the board. The updated version was moved from a COBOL Mainframe to a Java and Oracle-based distributed system.
• Led a team to modernize the Pool Allocation process by introducing an industry-wide pool netting capability along with a new interface for financial institutions to submit their allocations to DTCC via MQ messaging.
• Managed a group of offshore consultants to revamp the trading user interfaces building upon resilient WebLogic clusters leveraging a Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework.

Fixed Income Trading – Backend & Web Interface design, development & support (2001-2007)

• Designed and developed user interfaces in support of MBSD\GSD trading and matching.
• Executed a conversion of a critical legacy matching system handling the processing and matching of Fixed Income Government Securities trades to C++ from Pascal.

Developed a unique XML message broker utility for the B2B application writers as part of an internet startup.
