Worked as a full-stack engineering consultant for a public internet company on a project used to conduct a marketing campaign to increase new registrations and return users to local communities. It includes several back-end REST APIs designed and implemented to collect user invitations to local communities, generates data for third-party vendors, and process user reports for data scientists. Those APIs automated each step of an end-to-end marketing campaign so it could be repeated. It also generates business insights for optimizing marketing strategies. Added some changes to the front end to interact with the back end and a separate Airflow pipeline to handle the entire team’s data for additional investigation and research by data scientists.

• Re-designed and developed several key features of postcard service, a key service used in the Nextdoor marketing campaign, improving both efficiency and productivity in digital marketing;
• Integrated the postcard service with several third-party vendor’s data, developed data pipelines to generate invitation files to third-party vendor, processed postcard report, and consolidate data into the data lake for data scientists;
• Productionized data scientist’s model of marketing campaign model to continuously conduct and improve bi-weekly postcard campaign;

Redesigned and restructured legacy REST APIs in a price querying service. Optimized the performance by more than 80% after redesigning the system and scaled it to increase the service capacity. Designed and developed a Python framework for external market data loading and consolidation.

• Standardized the processing data pipeline from different external vendors and integrated the storage with a Hadoop-distributed file system (HDFS) and AWS S3.
• Led the cooperation with the front office and risk teams through the whole software development lifecycle (SDLC) process, from the business requirement to system design, development, and implementation.
